After frustrating waiting of 7 months for the candiates, TSPSC released the results of Group II preliminary test on 2-June-2017 which was intentionally planned to fall on Telangana formation day.
I was surprised to know
- TSPSC just gave the hall ticket numbers of the candidates in the list
- Surprisingly TSPSC decided not to release marks of all candidates(don't know why?) and No cutoff mentioned
- Without releasing the marks of all candidates or cutoff, how can any candidate know what is the qualifying mark?
- By making it completely Non-transparent manner, it raises many doubts whether shortlisting is has happened as per merit or not.
- 3000+ candidates will be called for Certificate verification and 1000 will be eliminated based on merit for the interview
- I dont understand the logic here. If they feel that there is a possibility of rejection of few candidates, what is the need to call 1000 extra candidates. 100 or 200 would be enough. an clearly mark them as waiting list (like UPSC)
- How can I filter out 1000 candidates based on certificate verification?
There is lot more to learn from APPSC. APPSC conducted prelims for Group-2 last week of February and released the results within 1.5 month, in first week of April. By releasing the marks of all, APPSC was transparent and clear not to creep any doubts in the minds of candidates, and so avoided any further legal issues.
By being non-transparent, TSPSC is creating doubts in candidates' mind and inviting criticism, legal issues if anyone files a case in the court. This further delays the final selection process.
Its time for TSPSC change their rules and become more transparent.

Explanation from TSPSC
"
this is illogical. What is forbidding TSPSC to declare cutoff & marks of all? There has to be valid explanation. Never declaring cutoff before the final selection cannot be the mere basis for them not to declare the cutoff now.
