Eventful Week!

This is an eventful week.... the week started with low & bad mood. But lots of work in office! Somehow I was managing work though did not have mood to work . Gradually got adjusted and completely involved in the work. Some times, keeping ourselves busy helps us come out of anything. I felt like taking couple of weeks off from work. But i know its not possible. The only way is to keep going.

Paint Ball

The mood changing event came in the name of The Paint Ball! On Wednesday, our team went to The Paint Ball Arena on Bannerghatta road. Its around 13 kms from my office. It was the first & decent ride on Bannerghatta road. I could not cross 75kmph as i wasnt familiar with the road, its humps & potholes. As i was the only one going there on bike, i could reach 20 mins earlier than the next batch. I was going to Paint Ball for the first time and feeling excited. When all team arrived, we were split into 4 teams and had to play matches with all other 3 teams. The riffles were bit heavy and bullets were plastic balls filled with paint. In the first fight, i was out quickly like everyone. Me & Sylus shot each other from close distance. Everyone finished their 1st fight quickly as everyone kept firing. Our team 'Snipers' won the 1st fight with 26-5 score. Thanks to Sarthak & Janaki! 2nd & 3rd matches lasted for longer time as everyone followed some strategy. People maintained hide and shoot. No close encounters! We won these 2 matches too! It was already dark and no final match! So we were declared as champions for 'wiping out' the enemies :) But everyone enjoyed the paint ball though its second time for many of us. After having snacks, we dispersed. we started back to our houses around 7.15pm. It was boring ride due to heavy traffic.

Cyclothon

Today(23-Jan-2010) I participated in Bangalore Cyclothon, first time in a cycling event. Saturday itself I got my bicycle from Kishore and rode from Basavanagudi to Office. After riding 5kms, I got some confidence. It was okay, not so tough. I parked my bicycle in the office itself which would be transported to the venue by Office Arranged transport. On Sunday early morning, I started from my room at 4.45am. The only thing I was scared of were about some mad dogs in my area. My fear came true and one dog was ready to chase me. But the only way to keep the mad dog away is to respect it and ride very slowly. It worked! But bike riding at 5am on inner ring road was horrible due to bone-biting chill. There were hardly any vehicle so could reach office within 20 mins. We started from office around 6.3oam to KTPO in a truck with our bicycles. It was a different & fun ride as we had to sit on the floor of the truck's luggage compartment. We reached the venue around 7.10am. The Amateur ride which is 25kms ride constitute 2 rounds started at 8.15am. While riding the cycle, I got a chance to see all companies in ITPL and to visit my first company. After i finished around 8kms, i thought of quitting after 1st round as i felt very tired. But after finishing 1st round, i took 2 mins break and drank some water. I felt recharged and decided to finish the 2nd round too. Atlast I finished the 25kms ride around 10am. It took me 1.45hrs to finish 25kms.. close to 15kmph... not bad! It was amazing and I felt great. I never thought I could ride 25kms on bicycle. I have decided to participate in similar events different from routine life!
